Fascinating Roman Aqueducts

Hundreds of miles of aqueducts stretched throughout the Roman Empire.  The romans had erected them extremely skillfully. These complex structures brought usable water to numerous towns. Some snaked underground while others towered and swerved above ground. They sloped discreetly and like waterslides through the mountains. Colossal tanks and springs held the water. Romans had comfortable access to fresh water from sixty miles away. Because the essential structures were made of stone and cement, they were durable. Some are in such suitable condition that they are used to this day. Roman aqueducts are a fascinating achievement.
