Lesson 11

 November 5, 2020

When I was young my family heard about land in the west. After much excitement and prayer, we decided to head west. We started impatiently packing everything we could fit in our wagon. we had to leave much behind. With excitement no knowing what we was ahead bid Farwell to our friends and family who were staying behind, unaware of if we would ever see them again.  When we were finished after many tears we head off for our new home.

On our journey we faced many hardships. At first it was not unbearably hard. But later on we started to face harder things. We faced Indians, who were tall and towered above us. And raging storms that because they shrieked in our ears frightened the horses, as well as rivers flooded with water were, we could just hold our breaths and pray that we would not drown. It was hard but we survived.

Finely our eyes witnessed the sight of the land we had journeyed so long to see. we were safe. we had lost much of our property, but we were thankful to the god who helped us, and we were gratified. We had a worm and Harty meal of corn bread and stew and sang praises to god for our safe journey. the trip to the west was risky and hard but we persevered all the way.

A Difficult Battle

Even though it was a hot summer day in the Ohio river valley, it was still dark. General Edward Brandock lead the British army through the Forrest. Although he was well trained, he was not accustomed to the forest. Rather he was familiar with the smooth terrane of England. By his side was George Washington who was accustomed to the area and knew the ways of the people. Sadly the French and British argued about who the Ohio river valley belonged to. the native Americans allied with the French for trading reasons. The British army was marching to a fort to capture the French, they were confident that they would surprise the French. The British were tired eager, and hopeful. It was only ten miles to the fort when shots rang out all around and the French and native Americans sprung form behind the trees.

General Brandock was killed. George Washington took over. Two horses were shout from under him. Amazingly Washington and his men escaped alive this was one of the many  difficult battles fought between the British and the French.

Following Christopher Columbus many Spanish people eagerly sailed to the new world. Many wanted fame and fortune and were not reverent of the natives’ land and were not kind. One man wanted to find the fountain of youth which he did not find. He did find Florida which he named after the flowers. Another man searched for the seven cities of gold but were transfixed when they found the Grand Canyon. The Spanish made the first permanent settlement which started out small and then grew larger.

Lesson 7

September 24, 2020

It was a cold winter night in 1773 in Boston. The “Sons of Liberty” were a group of youngsters who refused to pay taxes to King George. King George was sailing ships of tea to Boston. Then he was forcing the people to buy it. Paul was a ten-year-old, red-headed, curious boy, who lovingly followed his brother around. Peter was Paul’s brother and he was a member of the Sons of Liberty.

As Paul was following Peter, Peter told Paul to be very quiet and to observe. Paul did not understand but he obeyed. As he quietly walked through the streets, he remembered what he had overheard the men discussing, “We don’t desire to buy their tea. But they won’t send the ships back. We must do something about this,” said another. Paul was interrupted mid-thought as he eyes grew as large as pumpkins when he witnessed the sight of many colonists who were disguised as Indians board the ship.

The Sons of Liberty started to throw thousands of dollars’ worth of tea into the sea. The aroma of tea which filled the area had an overwhelmingly strong sent. The colonists started cheering they said, “Tell King George we will pay not taxes.” When the message reached King George he finally understood.

A furious fight between the red coats and patriots

The hushed sounds of the cold winter night in 1770 gave everything a strange feel. Hugh white was a low ranking soldier in the British army. Red  Coats were British soldier who bravely fought. Patriots were angry settlers, who did not like the red coats. At the time in Boston things were not going to well for the two groups. They were getting angry at each other.

As Hugh white who was scanning and observing the streets he had a strange feeling. He really sought to calm the anger of the people. They were angry because the king was making the pay unfair taxes. Soon the general joined him as a as a young patriot walked up to them speaking arrogantly to the officer. White confronted him telling him to be more respectful. Rather the youth said ‘’Huh who are you to confront me’’ ,and went on even more disrespectfully. White exclaimed ‘’ how dare you talk like that to a British officer’’and struck him with the butt of his gun.

The patriots, who were angry crowded around crying, ‘’kill him.’’ They furiously started throwing rocks, ice, and sticks. As the ice struck a man his gun fired the red coats urgently started firing at them causing five men to die. This was one of the many fights between the redcoats and the Patriots.

The Oldest Man to Sign the Constitution

Though most people don’t know it Benjamin franklin was interestingly the only person to sign the all four documents that helped America become a free nation. King George, who was the King of England, considered these drafts treason. So, Benjamin franklin amazingly risked his life by signing these documents. Obviously, the British did not acknowledge that  the colonists freedom, which led to the Revolutionary war. Later Franklin journeyed to France to ask for their friendship in the war.  It’s good that France helped because America would not have won without France’s help. At the age of eighty -one, Benjamin Franklin was the oldest man to sign the constitution.

Rejoice when you are persecuted

Asha singapogu
Lesson 24
April 2, 2020
Rejoice when you are persecuted
Which of you would sing if you. Were in prison. This story can be found in acts which is a book in the bible by Luke. This story is about Paul, Silas, and God. It all started at the market were there was a girl possessed by demons that proclaimed ‘’these men are servants of the most high God who proclaim to you the way of salvation. Paul was disturbed and sent the demon out of her. Her owners were greatly destressed because she brought then a good sum of money, so Paul and his companion Silas were sent to jail without a trial
This story sadly and drearily takes place about the time of Paul’s second mission in a dark dreary musty smelling prison. the dark Dungun told the story of the many deaths that had taken place there. This story is manly about Paul, Silas, God, and the jailer. Paul and Silas were missionaries. Before he became a missionary Paul, persecuted Christians and was called Saul. These men were faithful.
Paul and Silas who were badly wounded by the romans were sent to a very dark sell in a dark prison. Singing Paul and Silas amazingly praised the lord as if they were at a celebration. The prisoners were very annoyed. Just then there was a huge earthquake. Running the jailer came scared. ‘’what is happening? ‘’
Then in a few seconds the jailer was holding his sword to his throat and Paul called out to him ‘’do not harm yourself For we are here .‘’Gleeful happy and relieved the jailer called out to him and fell to his knees ‘’what has caused you to have such kindness ? ‘’Paul replied it is God who saved me then the jailer asked how should I be saved? Paul replied Believe in God. Immediately the jailer brought Paul and Silas too his home and gently washed him and fed him. From that time on the jailer and his family were Christian.
This story is a good example. About how God answers prayer. when things are not effortlessly easy, we need to be like Paul and Silas. Paul was faithful and Silas was encouraging. This story teaches that God has a plan. I think this message is very important. think about it which of you agree. When things are difficult, we need to rejoice.

Asha singapogu
Week 22
 March 19, 2020
Have you ever been through the most extreme hardships, misunderstanding and mind-boggling pain? Well Adoniram and Ann Judson are some of the most faithful hardworking and very misunderstood missionaries. Here are their stories. Adoniram came from a Christian family but joined a gang to oppress Christians as a young person. Ann came from a rich family that claimed to be Christion but, Ann often questioned her faith as a young person. When Adoniram was in college one of his partners in mocking Christion’s died. Adoniram was shocked and became a believer. In a short amount of tine Adoniram met Ann and they were in February of 1812 in Bradford Massachusetts. Fourteen days ladder the newlyweds sailed for India. On the ship their first two babies died. on the way to India Adoniram diligently studied the bible to oppose Willian Carrey a famous Baptist missionary. But while studying, he and Ann found that the Baptist principles were true and were baptized by Carrey, when the British east India company heard that they Americans were in India the sent the out the story of the faith of the Judson’s is an entrusting one.
The work that they began in Burma was difficult. After they were sent out of India the Judson’s hopelessly sailed to Burma, a land where the gospel had never been preached. In Burma the people did not listen. the first step wasted learn the difficult language   many years later, because Ann was better at the language, she helped Adoniram translate the bible into Burmese and make a dictionary. Six years later they baptized there first Burmese twelve years later they baptized there first Burmese. twelve years later the church grew to eighteen members. Suddenly sickness struck the palace Adoniram and his co-worker Dr. price were called. this was a food chance for Adoniram to preach. Many people became Christians in the palace. While they were working, they heard that Ann was going to have a baby in about six months. The work that god had for Adoniram and Ann to do was difficult.
Through prison and hardships, the Judson were faithful. In 1824 war broke out between England and Burma. because they had white skin Adoniram and Ann were thought to be spies. Adoniram was sent to prison. while he was in prison an had her baby. Ann walked four miles in the middle of the night to the prison and have him the translation of the bible hidden in a pillow, Adoniram was released seventeen moths later to translate the peace treaty after he was realest Ann and the baby both died, Adoniram died on a ship at the age of sixty two and was buried at sea through prison and extreme hardships the Judson’s were faithful
Adoniram and Ann’s faith is outstanding two me. And how they diligently started the work in Burma is encouraging to me and finally their faith through hardships is inspiring.
Let us pray that god would help is to be like them.

Using the gifts god has given me

Asha singapogu
Lesson 19
February 6, 2020
Using the gifts god has given me
What unique gifts has god given you? While god has given me other talents two of them are violin and crochet which of you can do that? extraordinarily I can give this gift god has given me to other people and give the glory to god.  One of my hobbies is violin, which is amazingly relaxing, encouraging and peaceful
I like to play at church in nursing homes and for bible study. [1] from the age of four I passionately started and have had three teachers. [1] Honestly playing violin is soothing and uplifting to me. I like to play with a family friend named will. he helps and encourages me. first, I played by ear without thinking like most people sing. Later on, I learned to read sheet music and accompany people while they are singing.[1] Whenever I can, my favorite thing to do is play solos at church I intend to use this talent God has given to me for his glory.
Crochet brings joy to people I appreciate. One of the other gift’s God has given to me is crocheting whereas most people don’t have this gift.[1] About the age of four I learned how to crochet from YouTube. I like to see the expression on the face of someone who receives my gift.[1] Every time I look, I look at my work I proudly feel accomplished. my favorite things to crochet are scrubby, hot pads, and blankets. Most of the time I crochet when I’m listening or setting down. some of the best things I’ve crocheted are five cautiously made blankets and a doll. The value of crocheting is being a blessing to others and using the skill God has given me. The most significant thing about these hobbies is that I can encourage people and bring glory to god. One of the reasons I have these hobbies are because If I keep it up I can use them for all my life.

I Am Forever Changed

Asha Singapogu
Lesson 18
February 29, 2020
I Am Forever Changed
This is incredible! I found myself years into the future. Who would think that I beheld and heard mind blowing things.  I will never view the world the same way again. Amazingly The first mind blowing item was a cold food storage box.  Then I witnessed a piece of jewelry that could improve your eyesight. Finally, I observed a massive barn full of food.
The first thing that I encountered was a cold food storage box. unbelievably Every house had this remarkable contraption.  It could hold enough food for a family of six for two weeks.  Meat would spoil in one day can last for a week or more in this device. In summer and in winter, cold water will flow out at the touch of a button.  Food that was cooked days ago could be saved and eaten for several days. No ice is needed to keep the box cold.  This was puzzling to me.  They said it had to do with a cord that was attached to the wall. I hope this cold food storage box will soon come to our land.
The next thing I beheld was jewelry that could make you see more clearly. For a long time As you know, I have always had poor eyesight. When One day, I was on the street looking for directions and a lady pulled me aside and gave me a astonishingly beautiful piece of jewelry that made my vision one hundred percent better. There were two circles made of strange clear, see-through things in front of my eyes and wires were tucked behind my ears to hold the jewelry in place.  The jewelry was beautiful, but it was even more useful than beautiful.  It was effective at correcting my vision both day and night. Some of these contraptions are even made to darken in the sunlight to protect the wearer’s eyes from the sun’s rays.  This jewelry that can improve vision is truly marvelous.
I will never forget the day I encountered a massive barn full of food.  My host family who thought they needed more food asked me to join them.  I imagined that we would walk to the field and harvest something to eat.  However, to my amazement, we went to a barn three times as large as the largest barn I had ever laid eyes on.  When I walked in, the barn was cold and there was all manner of food that I could ever imagine.  There were jugs full of milk, with no cow in sight. There were large pieces of meat, but I couldn’t see where they had shot it.  There was a huge quantity of fruits and vegetables and many including one called corn that I had never seen. There were also round shaped metal objects that apparently had food in them.  There were many boxes full other foods I had never encountered before.  They told me that apples could be found all year long, way past their growing season. Best of all, you did not need to give all of your family’s gold to purchase your supply of food.  Instead, you could just show them a small card and they would let you have the food.  The barn full of food was probably the most overwhelming thing I encountered during my time in the future.
I was absolutely amazed at the cold food storage box.  The jewelry that made me see better was puzzling.  The barn full of food was a shocking experience.  The most significant thing about these devices is that they make life easier.  Say goodbye to milking your cow and picking vegetables off your farm.  Bid farewell to bad eyesight and spoiled food.  You can save money and time.  Your life is enriched and eased by these objects. This experience has changed by imagination forever.  It is like being in a fairytale.  I have encountered things that I never imagined existing. Puzzling these things were but great they were. Things will never be the same for me.

Faith that Sustains

Faces of history
January 2020
Faith that Sustains
I am a compelling Christian woman because of my family and childhood, my quick rise and decline from power, and the faith that sustained me while in prison awaiting my execution.
My family and childhood paved the way for what was to come. I was born at Bradgate park in England in October of 1537. [1] Henry the VII who was ambitious was my great grandfather, and my cousin was Edward the VI, who became king when I was a child. My father was a rich nobleman named Harry and my mother was Lady Francis Brandon. Part of my childhood I resided in the home of Thomas Seymore.  This was significant because Thomas was the king’s uncle. His wife was Kathrine Parr. [3] Patently she taught me the Bible. Several factures lead me to become an extreme protestant as a young person. Tutors provided most of my education as a child. I was very intelligent and knew a number of languages including Greek, Latin, French, Hebrew, and, Italian. Excitingly, [2] In 1551 my father became the Duke of Suffolk. In 1553, when I was only 16, my parents married me of to Guilford Dudley. My family and childhood prepared me for being queen.
The story of my rise and decline from power is a short on.  I never truly wanted to be queen. [1] King Edward the VI was a protestant, but Mary, who was also my cousin, was Catholic and was next in line for the throne. [5] Because he desired the next ruler to be protestant, King Edward changed his will to make ne the next ruler. [2] On July 6, 1553 Edward died. [3] Slyly, my father-in-law schemed behind the scenes to make me queen. When I heard I was to be queen, I fainted and asked God for help. I became queen on the tenth of July 1553. The people were confused because they had expected Mary Tudor to be the next queen. Mary had the support of the soldiers as well as the affection of the people. [4] Seeing the situation, my father in-law, who brashly and brutally betrayed me, sided with Mary. I was forced to step down from the throne on July 19 since I could things weren’t going well. In only nine days I had risen to power and stepped down from the throne.
The rest of my life I was sustained by my faith while imprisoned. [3] Unfortunately, I was sent to prison in the tower of London for treason. [4] Worrying about the situation for the Christians in England, I prayed that God would help ne not to forsake my faith for love of life. I wanted to die confident in the Lord. Before I died, I wrote to my trustworthy sister and told her, “I will lose my mortal life and gain an immortal life.”  Before I was to be executed  Mary, who now queen, sent a monk to change my mind but I replied, “I ground my faith on God not on the church.” [5] While I somberly walked to be executed while reading my prayer book. [2] At the execution I proclaimed to the on lookers, “I die a true Christian woman and look to be saved only by the mercy of God and by the merits of the blood if his Son, Jesus Christ.” I then read Psalm 51 before being beheaded.
Because of my family and childhood, my quick rise and decline from power, and my faith which kept me strong in the final days of my life while in prison, my life’s legacy remains even today.
            Who am I?
